A short but steep 3 mile climb up to the summit of the Estes Cone unvieled this view of Longs Peak. Longs Peak is the highest peak in Rocky Mountain National Park at 14,255 ft above sea level. On the left side of Longs Peak, Mt. Meeker can be seen and on the right side of Longs Peak Mt. Lady Washignton can be viewed from the summit of the Estes Cone. The original Native American inhabitants of Colorado reffered to Longs Peak and Mt.Meeker as 'Rabbit Ears'. French fur traders reffer to Longs Peak and Mt.
