It was a cool October evening in Rocky Mountain National Park. I headed in as I do so often long before sunrise to check out the conditions and decide where to photograph. Being October I also wanted to see if the elk herds were active as the elk rut was also still active. I drove down into Moraine Park to check out the scene. The full moon was illuminating the frost covered grasses, mountains and trees of Moraine Park as a low fog hovered over the meadow. I quickly took out my camera to capture this spectacular blue light over this etheral landscape illuminated only by moonlight. Photo © copyright by Thomas Mangan.
