I started hiking up to Timber Lake long before sunrise on this July morning. When I finally arrived at the lake it was a cool morning at just over 11,000 ft. A Moose and her calf were busy grazing on the summer grasses near the outlet when I arrived. I carefully navigated around them and headed to the far side of Timber Lake to face Jackstraw Mountain. Sunrise came and the sky turned a rosey hue. The Moose and her calf had moved over to the oposite side of the lakeshore by the time I photographed this. If you look closely enough, you can see them standing on the far shore. Mornings like this in Rocky Mountain National Park never get old and make those long hikes in the dark all the more worth it.
