The dramatic and iconic landscapes of Rocky Mountain National Park are always amazing to photograph. That being said, finding the more subtle, unique compositions are always rewarding as photographer. I was out photographing the elk rut one October morning in Moraine Park, when I spied a bright yellow bush up on the South Lateral Moraine. Of course my curiosity got the better of me and I climbed up the steep hillside to take a closer look. This golden bush, backstopped by a giant granite Boulder was just about perfect in my eye. Sure its not all that dramatic, but I came away pleased having found something a little different to photograph. Photo © copyright by Thomas Mangan.
