I'm always looking for compositions like this one. An aspen tree with a solid background. It's much more difficult than many people think to find clean backgrounds like this. With that being said, you can imagine my surprise when hiking along the Bierstadt Moraine one late fall morning, I found this one aspen trees growing right along side this huge boulder or glacial erratic. While I love photographing a dramatic sunrise or sunset in Rocky Mountain National Park, its this little discoveries and reveals that always leave me with a big smile.
