It's getting late in the evening in a remote section of Rocky Mountain National Park. Myself and Erik Stensland had been out photographing on the west side all evening and were heading back to our camp at the Upper East Inlet. With sunset approaching quickly, we were scrambling for a place to photograph before the light disappeared for the evening. Glissading down snow covered hillsides and nearly running we were both looking for a place to catch last light on Isolation Peak. I settled on this tarn, surrounded by marsh marigolds, still with ice and snow in the middle of July. I was able to get a few images off before the light disappeared and it was an exhilarating thrill just getting to this spot before the light was gone. Photo © copyright by Thomas Mangan.
