The Colorado River trails twists and turns and rounds the bend in the deep dark pine forests on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park. One of the more underated hikes is that along the Colorado River starting in at the north end of the Kawuneeche Valley. This trail takes you along the newly formed Colorado River, past abandon cabins and ghost towns and through some of the most quaint yet beautifuly understated scenery in Rocky Mountain National Park.
