A Wyoming Ground Squirrel makes a quick appearance on a rock in Moraine Park after collecting grass to bring back to its nest. Wyoming Ground Squirrels are active in Rocky Mountain National Park for about 5 months of the year, while during the late fall and winter months they hibernate in their dens. You can find Wyoming Ground Squirrels in the lower meadows of Rocky Mountain National Park from about April through September.
