Rocky Mountain National Park plays host to large herds of Elk. The now oversized herd of elk likes to chew and eat the aspen tree park throughout the park and because of this, the aspen boles have a unique look to them. That unique look can be seen in this photo as the Elk chew the base of the aspen trees when hungry causing the scarring that is visible near the base of the aspen trees of Rocky Mountain National Park.
