Photo Journal : Winters Makes Its First Appearance!

We received our first snow of the season in Rocky Mountain National Park yesterday. While not necessarily early, its always a bit jolting to us who favor the warmer months and love the summer season in RMNP. It snowed overnight so the NPS had not yet closed Trail Ridge Road down yet. This allowed for some good opportunities to photograph the Never Summer Range of RMNP with fresh snow. Here, Mount Cumulus and Nimbus can be seen catching some breif sunlight as the snowline can be seen at about 10,000 ft in Forest Canyon below.
